Sculptural Armchairs by Bertha Schaefer for M. Singer & Sons

These armchairs on turned walnut legs (Model #222) were designed in the 1950s for M. Singer and Sons. They retain their original naugahyde upholstery. Formerly, these chairs have been attributed to Carlo di Carli, Bertha Schaefer, and Gio Ponti, who all designed for M. Singer and Sons. However, there is no direct attribution in the Singer and Sons catalog; just a model number. Measures 23 1/2w X 22 1/2d X 31 1/2″h.
