Low Walnut Credenza by Ray Sobota

This Low Walnut Credenza designed by Ray Sobota and produced in 1959 by Mt. Airy Furniture Co. was probably sold by the distributor John Stuart. Well done walnut construction around the entire piece with subtle curved and sculpted detailing, including tapered sides (back is wider than the front) and a slightly tapered front. Original vitreous enamel over bronze hardware. Cabinet is divided into three sections. Double doors to the right reveal a single shelf, double doors in the middle reveal three drawers (one of which is divided) and a single door to the left reveals a single shelf. A Pennsylvania company, one can see the impact that the PA. artisans had on this design and construction. In excellent original condition, it measures 19 X 72 X 25″h. SOLD.
