A beautifully conceived, forward thinking room clock made in Denmark in the 1960s. Arne Hovmand-Olsen understood that no one really wanted a grandfather clock whose interior was stuffed with clock works. So he threw away the notion of a “fine” clock, and put a battery operated clock works in his stunningly gorgeous clock, and positioned the shelves so that it could be a serviceable bar. Constructed of brazilian rosewood, the cabinet features a prominent horn shaped base of solid rosewood and brass supports. Door operates with a key. In excellent condition, it keeps good time and measures 19.25w X 11.5d X 72.5h.
