Carved Walnut Arm Club Chair

This Carved Walnut Arm Club Chair was made in the 1960's, and was made with great care to detail. The sculptural walnut arm deepens at the center of the angle while narrowing at the same time. At the top and the front it flattens out, and widens, resembling the arm of Wegner's Papa Chair. The apron is extremely thin, as are the stretchers which have a thin gap between them and the chair bottom. The legs are thin tapered squares. The carved arms remind me of some of Kagan's work, and the overall feel and quality of the chair are that of Dunbar. The chair has some staining on the apron, and inside one arm and is being sold with reupholstering in mind. It is unmarked, is in excellent condition and measures 27"w X 34"d X 30"h. SOLD.
